Every language has another spelling for the name of this famous Farao. He is known as the heretic king, because he banned all the Egyption gods in favour of one new god: Aton.
He also changed his name from Amenhotep IV to Achnaton because of the religious change.

This sculpture is about one feet high/30 cm. high, but the original in stone is 205 cm! (7 feet)

I love the art style Achnaton introduced, so that's why I wanted to have a go at it myself. It's drying at the moment, as you can see. But I'm planning on glazing it with blue and gold.

Oh, that must be fun! Good luck, I'm sure you'll create some beautiful things. :) I've switched to polymer clay now, so I haven't done any ceramics for years actually.

Actually, I don't miss ceramics yet. I've always wanted to work on a smaller, very detailed level and ceramics don't really allow that. Also, I've always hated glazing :P It will come back though, one day. And then I'll make some more ceramic works. :)
